Complete gym access, premium strength equipment, individually tailored programming, and in-person coaching every session ensure your training is structured, intentional, and effective.
Our service delivery is intentionally different and best understood in person.
The Strength Fortress was designed so that every training session is completed under the supervision of a coach. During our open coaching hours, members arrive at the time that suits them, knowing our coaches are on the gym floor, ready to guide them through their session.
Training at the Fortress feels less like a traditional gym and more like a team environment. Members train alongside one another, much like teammates on a football team, under the direction of our coaching staff.
Just as each football player receives coaching specific to their position and role, every member receives coaching tailored to their individual goals, strengths, limitations, injury history, and experience level. While programs are fully personalised, training happens together in a shared, supportive environment.
We place a strong emphasis on education and autonomy. Our goal is not just to guide your training today, but to equip you with the skills to train competently, confidently, safely, and effectively for life. Members complete their prescribed training at their own pace, with coaches always present, accessible, and attentive.
Beginner lifters receive close guidance and support. As confidence and competence develop, we intentionally step back, allowing members to explore, learn, and take ownership of their training, while remaining available whenever support is needed.

Don’t just take it from us
I’m a 38 year old philosophy academic who’s now mildly addicted to powerlifting. I was a complete novice when I joined up in 2021. To be honest, I had always found gyms rather intimidating and when I signed up, it did take me a little while to figure out how to navigate the space. However, the team were incredible at making me feel welcome and I was eased into a program that built both my confidence and my strength. I chose to sign up because of my history of chronic fatigue syndrome and chronic pain. I wanted something in my life that would literally rebuild my body and also prove to myself that challenging my body is safe and healthy. Powerlifting has done exactly that: I’ve got so much energy now, I love making gains, and I’m pretty damn proud of myself for being able to deadlift over my body weight. The Strength Fortress is such a friendly and inclusive space; if you’re looking for something grounding and challenging, that will build good habits, then this is where to start.
